JPG, PNG, WebP… · processed in your browser, never uploaded

Stamp a text watermark to protect or brand your photos. Runs entirely in your browser — your image is never uploaded.

Quick answer

To watermark an image, upload it, type your watermark text, and set the position, opacity, color, and size; you can place it in one corner or tile it diagonally across the whole photo to make removal harder. The watermark is drawn onto the image with the HTML canvas and exported as a PNG, entirely in your browser, so your photo is never uploaded.

Formula & method

Your image is drawn to a canvas at full resolution, then the watermark text is rendered on top at the chosen opacity, color, and font size (scaled to the image width). In single-stamp mode it's placed at one of nine positions; in tile mode it's repeated on a rotated diagonal grid that covers the whole image, which is harder to crop out.

Examples

Example 1: Corner copyright
Input
© Your Name, bottom-right, 50% opacity
Result
A subtle corner mark
Why
The classic, unobtrusive way to claim a photo.
Example 2: Tiled watermark
Input
Tile on, 30% opacity
Result
Repeating diagonal text
Why
Covering the whole image makes the mark hard to remove.
Example 3: Bold visible mark
Input
Size up, opacity 80%
Result
A prominent watermark
Why
Higher opacity and size for proofs and previews.

When to use this tool

  • Adding a copyright or brand mark before sharing photos online.
  • Marking proofs or previews so they can't be used without permission.
  • Tiling a watermark across an image to deter reuse.

Common mistakes

  • Setting opacity so high it ruins the image, or so low it's trivially cropped or cloned out.
  • Placing a single small mark in a corner that's easy to crop away — tile it for real protection.
  • Choosing a watermark color that blends into the photo and becomes invisible.

Frequently asked questions

How do I add a watermark?

Upload the image, type your text, and adjust the position, opacity, color, and size. Toggle tiling to repeat it across the whole photo, then download.

Can I tile the watermark?

Yes. Turn on tiling to repeat the text on a diagonal grid covering the entire image, which is much harder to crop out than a single corner mark.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. The watermark is applied locally with the canvas, so the image stays on your device.

Can I add an image/logo watermark?

This tool does text watermarks. For a logo, export your logo as text-free art and overlay it with an image editor, or use the meme tool for simple captions.

What format is the result?

A PNG, preserving any transparency in the original.

Does a watermark fully prevent theft?

No watermark is unremovable, but a tiled, semi-transparent mark makes reuse inconvenient and discourages casual copying.
