Formula & method

Your image is drawn to a canvas at its full resolution. The captions are rendered in bold Impact (with sans-serif fallbacks), uppercased, centered, with a black stroke outline over a white fill — the long-standing meme style. Text that's too wide is wrapped onto multiple lines, and the font size scales with the image width so it looks right at any resolution.
