Probability
A number from 0 to 1 measuring how likely an event is to happen.
Probability quantifies the likelihood of an event on a scale from 0 (impossible) to 1 (certain), often written as a percentage. For equally likely outcomes it is the number of favourable outcomes divided by the total number of outcomes. Probabilities of independent events multiply, and the probabilities of all possible mutually exclusive outcomes sum to 1.
Example: Rolling a 6 on a fair die has probability 1 ÷ 6 ≈ 0.167, or about 16.7%.
